摘要：This article presents a proposal for a reading of the biblical narratives through elements of Literary Theory. The concept of rhetoric communication of the biblical text is central to the article. Initially, it indicates the main works published in Brazil in this area. After it analyses the relationship between Bible and literature. Finally, it defines the terms that will be employed and applies them to biblical narratives.↓Este artigo apresenta uma proposta de leitura das narrativas bíblicas por intermédio de elementos da teoria literária. O conceito de comunicação retórica do texto bíblico é central para o artigo. Inicialmente, indica as principais obras publicadas no Brasil na área, discutindo, a seguir, a relação entre Bíblia e literatura. Na seqüência, define os termos que serão empregados e, finalmente os aplica às narrativas bíblicas.
