摘要：En este ensayo se explica qué es la historia oral. También se analiza su importancia dentro de la historiografía contemporánea, sobre todo como herramienta para estudiar aspectos de la tradición, la memoria colectiva o de los perfiles de pensamiento de individuos o grupos, entre otros tópicos. Así mismo, el autor destaca la importancia de la historia oral en la formación de historiadores y en la investigación histórica que tiene como objeto de estudio el Caribe colombiano.
