摘要：Diante de tantas evoluções e mudanças, assistimos a transformação da informação em fenômeno social. Desse modo, percebemos as mesmas mudanças de forma direta na formação dos profissionais que têm a informação como objeto de trabalho, como é o caso dos Bacharéis em Biblioteconomia, dessa maneira, o estudo visa uma reflexão sobre o olhar de uma parcela desses profissionais, da cidade de Teresina - PI de forma a esclarecer quem são estes, suas atribuições e as novas tendências diante das exigências da sociedade na era da informação, desmistificando a profissão que ainda é ligada por muitos apenas a processos técnicos e a ambientes tradicionais de trabalho como bibliotecas. Partimos de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e sucessivamente com uma de campo que através de entrevistas buscamos entender a temática a partir da perspectiva de um recorte de 100 (cem) pessoas a cerca da profissão e do profissional. Para tanto, se fez necessário o aprofundamento teórico através das leituras de Fonseca (1979), Tarapanoff (1997), Haesbaert (2006) Alvarenga Neto (2008), Mostafa e Pacheco (2009) entre outros. 其他摘要：With so many developments and changes, witnessing the transformation of information into a social phenomenon. Thus they directly affect the training of professionals who have the information as an object of study, as is the case of Bachelors of Library, thus, the study aims at reflecting on the look of a portion of the city of Teresina - PI about this behavior in order to clarify who they are, their powers and emerging trends from the demands of society in the information age, demystifying the profession that is still bound by many technical processes and the only traditional work environments such as libraries. We started with a literature search and forth with a field through interviews that seek to understand the issue from the perspective of a cut of 100 (one hundred) people about the profession and professional. Thus, it was necessary theoretical approaches through readings of Fonseca (1979), Tarapanoff (1997), Haesbaert (2006) Alvarenga Neto (2008), Mostafa and Pacheco (2009) among others.
