摘要:This study uses data taken from the 2001 General Social Survey on family history (GSS, Cycle 15) to examine home-returning among Canadian men and women born in 1942–76. In addition to conducting a detailed analysis of the numerous factors at play in determining the likelihood of home-returning, we pay specific attention to the timing of the transition and provide an estimation of the overall influence of unobserved characteristics that contribute to generate home-returners. Results suggest that early, intermediate, and late home-returners have different socio-demographic profiles and that unobserved characteristics play a significant part in the determination of home-returning.
