摘要：One of the reforms that the architectural profession underwent in the mid-nineteenth century was the substitution of the traditional and exclusivelly artistic focus of students sojourns abroad for a tendency that combined the two dominant aspects of architecture: art and science. This transformation was encouraged by the aspiration of the new liberal bourgeois regime. The project of Francisco de Cubas abroad illustrates this development fo the first time.
