摘要:Philippe van Parijs' case for a basic income attempts at convincing the moral philosopher and the concerned citizen, both at once. In case it happened, the theory of justice in the rawlsian tradition, as applied to basic income implementation, would have proven its political performance. In this paper, 1 contend that, in order to make his case, van Parijs brings down political debate to reflective equilibrium, excluding prudential considerations, on the one hand, and leaving sentimental education as the only available alternative, on the other, for those who resist the cogency of his arguments. Is this enough to steer clear of Penguins Island?
