摘要：From 1936 to 1939 the cartographic services of the Republic, and the cartographic section of the Franco's General Staff, carried out an enormous task in cartography in order to fulfil the requiriments of the Spanis Civil War. In spite of his importance, those maps are poorly known. So the persons in charge of them. After presenting a general description of Spanish official cartography before 1936, this article explains how the Republic solved the problems of map production, and describes the maps employed by the Republican Army. A forthcoming paper will present the task developed by the cartographers of General Franco.
