摘要：D esc rib es a method for preparing personal names already in machine read able form for processing by any standard computer sort program , determin ing filing order insofar as possibl e from normally availabl e information rather than from special formating . Pr e fix recognition is emphasized; multi word forename entries are a problem area. Provision is made for an edit list of probl e ms requiring human decision. Possible extension of the method to titles is discussed.
