摘要：This research was conducted in a governmental organization with the objective of evaluating the relationship between information technology and structural dimensions of the organization. The research population consisted of all the professional staff of the Social Welfare Department of Ilam Province. There were a total of 240 professional employees, of whom 155 were selected as the final sample using simple random sampling method. For evaluating the research variables, the 30-item organizational structure questionnaire of Faghihi (2008) and the 12-item information technology questionnaire of the author were used. The results of the current research showed that there is a significant relationship between information technology and organizational structure at the (p≤0.001) level. A significant relationship at the (p≤0.001) level was observed between information technology and organizational formalization and centralization in strategic decision-making. Additionally, the results showed that there is a significant, inverse relationship at the (p≤0.05) level between information technology and structural complexity.
