摘要:The religious transit, understood as a change in the religious affiliation and the reconfiguration of the paradigm of belonging, is an increasingly common phenomenon in contemporary Brazil. Far from being an inheritance, religious identity is seen today as a malleable and transient reality, in constant construction and deconstruction. This paper aims at analyzing the factors that interfere in the constant reconfiguration of the religious universe, focusing mainly on the relationship between geographic mobility - migration - and religious mobility: How does geographical mobility affect the person's religious identity? Starting from a survey conducted by the Scalabrinian Centre of Migratory Studies with urban migrants in four geographical areas - Caxias do Sul/RS, Aracaju, Manaus, and Federal District and surroundings - the author infers that migration, for different reasons, encourages the reconfiguration of religious identity, both in the sense of affiliation change and in the redefinition of the paradigm of belonging.
