摘要：This research discusses the conditions in which Pentecostalism can arise as a variable, symbolically relevant, and capable of changing social relations of persons that live in slums of the city of Campos de Goytacezes, which is frequently influenced by drug trade, because they are close to the city of Campos de Goytacazes, which is influenced by considerable violence and drug trafficking. The research studies how Pentecostal religious leaders deal with drug trafficking and the violence practiced by drug dealers. By means of qualitative research – together with contacts and interviews with Pentecostals living in the area – the study seeks to understand how Pentecostals construct their relationship and meaning within a context of violence.
