摘要：Marcuse teoriza que o capitalismo invadiu as fronteiras da intimidade humana. O homem atual vive a unidimensionalidade do paradigma do capital, não encontrando outras perspectivas para interagir com o mundo. Objetivo: investigar o paradoxo entre criticar o funcionamento do sistema de saúde e eleger o sucessor de um governante municipal considerado corrupto por uma população. Foram realizadas entrevistas individuais em profundidade com 114 moradores da zona rural ribeirinha de uma região no interior do Estado do Amazonas, seguindo os procedimentos de análise preconizados pela hermenêutica dialética. Os principais resultados apontam para um senso comum de que não existe outra solução para os dilemas, já que o candidato se elegeria de qualquer forma, a despeito do poder do eleitor no processo. Conclui-se que a população entrevistada não acredita ser capaz de modificar sua sociedade, seguindo o ditame pré-estabelecido de que não há outra solução e que a exclusão social é fato consumado. O ser humano individual não tem outra possibilidade a não ser seguir o que já está estabelecido pelos outros, segundo estes ribeirinhos. ABSTRACT - Marcuse theorizes that capitalism has invaded the boundaries of human intimacy. The human lives the unidimensionality of the paradigm of capitalism. This study aimed to investigate the paradox of criticizing the functioning of the health system and electing a successor of the mayor considered corrupt by a population. Individual deep interviews were conducted with 114 inhabitants of the rural riverine area of a region of the interior of the State of Amazonas, analyzed using the hermeneutic dialectic procedure. The principal results indicated a general sense that no other solution exists for the dilemmas, as the candidate would be elected anyway, despite the power of voters in the process. It was concluded that the population interviewed did not believe in being able to change their society, following the pre-established dictum that there is no other solution and that social exclusion is a fait accompli.
