摘要：In the late 18th century, Portugal and Spain attempted to resolve their overseas territorial disputes through the work of joint committees to delimiting boundaries. However, the policy of setting limits was characterized by the formulation of war projects, and the experience of border demarcations created local disagreements. Through Portuguese and Spanish sources concerning the demarcation on the northern border of South America, this article discusses the conflicts and the war plans produced by Spanish and Portuguese authorities in the border zone between the Captaincy of Rio Negro Province and Maynas during the years 1780-1791.
