摘要:Analar grade TiO 2 (95%) and ZrO 2 (5%) were combined and annealed at 500˚C for 1 h to form TiO 2 -ZrO 2 binary oxide powder. The binary oxide powder was employed by using ball-milling and mesh sieving to get nano sized powder. The microstructural properties of TiO 2 -ZrO 2 powder were confirmed by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM). FESEM showed that TiO 2 powder exhibited mesoporous structure. Structural properties and phase assignment of TiO 2 -ZrO 2 powder were examined by X-ray Diffraction (XRD). (2.5´2.5 cm 2 ) ITO/glasses worked as substrates and TiO 2 -ZrO 2 paste was deposited onto glass substrate by using glass rod. The different weights of sawdust (ironwood) were used for the dye sensitizer and UV-Vis spectroscopy was carried out to examine the optical properties of sawdust dye solution. TiO 2 -ZrO 2 film was sensitized with different molarities of sawdust dye solution. Glass substrate was filled with carbon by using oil heater for counter electrode and it was confirmed by XRD. Both films were clamped together with binder clips and a few drops of iodine were added between them. The photovoltaic properties of dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) were measured under illumination condition. The resultant efficiency was found to be 0.78% with the fill factor of 0.76 for TiO 2 -ZrO 2 electrode with highest concentration of sawdust organic dye. The experimental findings resulted from this research work can be of great help for low-cost and Eco-friendly DSSC application.
