摘要：Heroin overdose deaths are plaguing the St. Louis, Metro-east. Many who become addicted to heroin started out abusing prescription painkillers. With the rising cost of prescription drugs, many users were unable to maintain this high, and reverted to a cheaper high. Heroin use and abuse not only affect the user, but everyone coming into contact with the user. Heroin use is devastating on users, families, communities, and law enforcement personnel. However, the drugs effects and what users are willing to do to get high, ultimately contributes to secondary issues.
