摘要：This paper examines the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's effort to combat the segregation of the American education system through litigation. While segregation was found unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in the 1954 case of Brown v. Board of Education, many cases preceded this decision. Although the N.A.A.C.P was successful in their immediate goal of convincing the Supreme Court to favor integration, this paper explains that segregation remains prevalent in the American school system.
