摘要:This paper describes approach used and experiences from re-developing an undergraduate major in data analytics. Industry feedback into re-design suggests that focus should move from specific analytics techniques to kindling student understanding of the business context. We identify challenges faced in undertaking this kind of course redesign and describe lessons learned. The major challenge is how to balance the complexities of data and domains with the simplifications required to promote student learning. One major lesson learned is that a task-centric rather than topic-centric learning approach is needed.
