摘要:Abstract Organisations have consistently been looking for different ways to advance the usage of their engineering assets towards ensuring the asset performance at peak levels and increasing their revenue. This task is always supported within industrial environments by the technical documentation describing in a complete manner the asset and dictating how it should be managed. However, a gap between the original documentation instructions on the asset usage and the actual asset usage combined with a low understanding of the asset capabilities on how to best operate and maintain them may lead to human errors or negligence. A step-by-step ontology-based approach has been proposed to represent the knowledge included in the documentation concerning the asset's usage, maintenance and configuration. This paper focuses on the development step of a rule-based mechanism to identify and correct divergences in the actual asset usage from the documentation instructions towards improving or even optimizing the asset performance.
