其他摘要:The general economic political strategy developed during the 1980's by the respective governments of the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (1982-1996) and the Partido Popular (since 1996) have been subject to the contradictions between their main objectives. From the macroeconomic point of view, this strategy has been based, as in other Western economies, on controlling inflation. However, from a long-term perspective, since this is one of the pillars on which the consensus on the transition to democracy was based, public performance had to contribute simultaneously to the modernization of the Spanish economy and the development of the Welfare state. These three objectives were not always complementary and indeed, the changes recorded in economic policy in recent decades may be explained by the need to respond to the tensions between these objectives.
