摘要：Abstract Entering university causes major changes in individuals’ life, and is an important period that naturally contains many stresses which can threaten students’ mental health. This study was conducted to survey the mental health state of students attending Payame-Noor University in Toyserkan . This study was done in descriptive and analytic method. The population of the study included all the students in Payame-Noor University, Toyserkan branch in 1389 (2010). By multi stage sampling method 400 of the students were selected based on Kerjcie and Morgan table. Research's findings have been formulated in two parts: descriptive and inferential. In inferential part Chi square test was used. The SCL 90 questionnaire was administered to evaluate mental health. According to Global severity Index (GSI) it was determined that 29% of students were normal and 64% of them were suspected of mental problems. Students of Humanities with 83% and Engineering students with 28% had the upper and lower mean. Also regarding the prevalence of 9 disorders, 72% depression, 69% obsessive/compulsive, 65% anxiety, 68% phobic anxiety, 59% hostility, 48% somatisation, 35% interpersonal sensitivity, 28% paranoid ideation, and 12% psychoticism were seen . According to Chi square test; 1- There are no significant differences between female and male students. 2- Students mental health and their field of studies are significantly related.
