摘要:The purpose of this paper is to show how the complex problem that concerns the relationship of man and nature is one of the main theoretical elements of the current debate on biotecnology. The notions of naturality and artificiality – of what is ‘given’ and what is ‘make’ – are amply analized by reference to a few authors of the philosophical tradition, but particularly to the ones belonging to the modern age. Two forms of naturalism derive from the way by which such notions are correlated: one that emphasizes the dependence of man on nature, another that stresses man’s ability to act on nature.
