摘要:The study is an attempt to clarify the thematic misgivings J. M. Coetzee’s Booker Prize winning novel Disgrace has aroused by having a detailed discussion on the protagonist David Lurie, his stereotypical ambivalence and his disgrace, so as to reveal that under Coetzee’s lucid and evasive language, he intends to disclose the secret of disgrace for the whites in the new South Africa after the collapse of the apartheid system.Key words: David Lurie; Disgrace; Stereotypical ambivalence
