摘要:The aim of the paper is to analyze the trade-off between landscape aesthetic value and farm income. A study carried out in North-east Italy plane areas has provided visual-aesthetic indices of the main crops raised in the area. A function relating aesthetic landscape appreciation to land use was then estimated. Linear programming models of two representative farms of the area have been implemented in order to identify the optimal production solution under different CAP scenarios. Finally a multi-objective analysis approach was used in order to estimate the most efficient compromise solution sets among profit and landscape quality maximisation. From a policy maker perspective, this approach turns in to a useful tool in order to calculate a set of efficient financial contribution, since incentives are tailored to farmer’s requirements.
