摘要:Abstract Quality of life is much sought after by societies throughout the world. However, it is subjected to different interpretations. In Shah Alam, the cul-de-sac courtyard has been placed under micro-neighbourhood study. A self-administered questionnaire approach in determining the responses of the residents of their environment was undertaken. This paper focuses on this method by searching, extracting, adapting, refining, and validating the Questionnaires that were used. The paper clarifies the need of understanding our neighbourhoods within a specific context. A census study of two cul-de-sac courtyards outlines the pilot questionnaire research. 49 items were used but then reduced to 37 with 10 sub-scales with justifications. The paper shall elucidate the validity of this method whilst assisting in the larger research endeavour of triangulation.
