摘要:This article maintains that family relations until the second half of the 19 th century in the region of Concepción maintained strong ties of dependency on the community, within the frame of an early modernization process and the decline of traditional society. By the beginning of the 20 th century these ties tended to disappear, and both family and conjugal relations and conflicts were to establish a precarious relationship with the community and, especially, with the State. Family conflicts in the second half of the 19 th century thus evolved in the period of transition from religious forms of control under the Catholic Church, towards secular practices administered by the State, both of which were constrained by community control and sanctions.
