摘要：Through the analysis of archival documents (notarial protocols) and newspapers from 1912, the author provides a critical reading of the novel-testimony Biografía de un Cimarrón (1966) by Miguel Barnet. In addition, the paper discusses the results of the Cuban Independence War (1895-1898), comparing the literary perspectives of Barnet, Montejo's narration and the discourse of the primary sources.
