摘要：La Baltasara was a famous actress at the end of the sixteenth century and the beginning of the seventeenth, who retired from the stage to live in a hermitage until her death. This event was recovered by Luis Vélez de Guevara, Antonio Coello and Francisco de Rojas Zorrilla as the basis for the plot of one of their plays which was written in collaboration and titled with the actress’s name. Throughout this article, various documents are presented to give information on the actress and her retirement. Likewise, the topics and elements which shape the play, taken from one of the most successful genres, hagiographic play, are analyzed.
