摘要:During the Spanish post-war period, there were many anti-Francoist playwrights who decided to disguise their works, so the censors would not notice their criticism of the system. Juan Benet, whose dramatic corpus is quite short, could be one of them, mainly because of his play Anastas or the Origins of the Constitution (1958). Our purpose is to find out if it actually follows the steps of the possibilist theatre carried out by Buero Vallejo and others, or if on the contrary, it avoids political commitment and like most of the works written by Benet, answers to strictly personal criteria, opposite to militancy and favourable to technical innovation.
