摘要:This research article is derived from a field study conducted to identify social representations (SR) of the computer users of Community Learning Centersat ITESM. The instruments used were:free association test and interviewscript to samples of 217 subjects inthe first condition and 31 in the secondone. The study was conducted inChapa de Mota and Villas del Carbón,Estado de México. SR were changingbetween users based on age andlength of use and showed how communitymembers used the computerin their daily activities. Transference to practice The main objective of the study wasto identify the social representations of computer users of semirural populations, to support the educational foundation of the training courses that Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Estado de Mexico, imparts permanently referral centers, with based on prior knowledge that users have of the computer, which encourages their useas a means to recognize facilitator of academic, industrial, recreational and daily activities. Although the results of the research have an interest focused mainly on the State of Mexico, the findings and recommendations could be used in similar applications both in Mexico and in other countries
