摘要：Objetivo: Identificar las necesidades generales en un grupo de cuidadores de personas en situación de discapacidad de la localidad de Fontibón (Bogotá, Colombia), para proponer estrategias de acción que contribuyan a su bienestar y el de las personas que están a su cuidado. Materiales y métodos: Estudio cualitativo desarrollado entre enero de 2008 y agosto de 2009, en el que se valoraron las percepciones de las necesidades descritas bajo el modelo de Determinación Social de la Salud, como necesidades de tipo general, con la información de un grupo de cuidadores informales de personas en situación de discapacidad, los familiares de estos cuidadores, un equipo de profesionales del grupo de prevención y manejo de la discapacidad del Hospital de Fontibón y representantes de instituciones vinculadas al trabajo de discapacidad. Las herramientas utilizadas fueron entrevistas a profundidad, entrevistas semiestructuradas y el grupo focal. Resultados: En las voces de los participantes prevalecieron las necesidades relacionadas con los problemas de tipo económico, las debilidades en el sistema de protección social, los problemas de acceso a los servicios de salud y de la calidad de los servicios, así como la falta de oportunidades laborales. Conclusiones: Aunque los participantes reconocieron un avance en la formulación de políticas públicas para las personas en situación de discapacidad, perciben que estas no logran cobijarlos en su situación de cuidadores. Adicionalmente, se ponen de manifiesto serias debilidades en las estructuras de la mayoría de los sectores explorados, que plantean la necesidad imperiosa de reunir esfuerzos colectivos que permitan estructurar programas integrales para contribuir a la calidad de vida de los cuidadores y de las personas en situación de discapacidad. AbstractObjective: To identify the general necessities of a group of custodians of handicapped people at the Fontibon country (Bogotà, Colombia), in order to propose strategies of accomplishment that allow to contribute to the welfare of the custodians and also for the handicapped people. Materials and methods: This is a qualitetive study prformed between January of 2008 ans August of 2009 assessed the perceptions of the necessitiesdescribed under the "Social Determination of Health" model classifies as general necessities with the information regardign a group of informal custodians of hadicapped people, the family of the custodians, a team of professionals from the group of prevention and conducting of handicap that belongs to the Hospital of Fontibon Country and also involved representatives of instutions related to any type of disabilities. The tools used werw insight interviws, semi-structured interviews and focus groups. ResultsIn the voice of the participants there was found very often the financial necesities, the weaknessessof the social healthcare system, the problems related to access to healthcare, and the quality of the services, and also the lack of job opportunities. Conclusions: Even though the participants admitted that there has been some progress on the making of public policies related to handicapped people, they also perceive that this progress do not pertains to the custodians. Furthermore they manifest serious weaknesses in the structure of most of the aresa observed that shows the imperative necessity of putting collective effords together that allow to create integrated programs focused on the welfare of the custodians and also the handicapped people.↓Objetivo: Identificar as necessidades gerais de um grupo de responsáveis pelos cuidados de portadores de necessidades especiais da região de Fontibón (Bogotá, Colômbia), para propor estratégias de ação que contribuam a seu bem-estar e das pessoas a seu cuidado. Materiais e métodos: Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo desenvolvido entre janeiro de 2008 e agosto de 2009, no qual se levaram em consideração as percepções das necessidades descritas de acordo com o modelo de Determinação Social da Saúde como necessidade do tipo geral com a informação de um grupo de responsáveis informais de pessoas com necessidades especiais, de seus familiares, uma equipe de profissionais do grupo de prevenção e tratamento das necessidades especiais do Hospital de Fontibón e representantes de instituições vinculadas ao trabalho destas necessidades. Os instrumentos utilizados foram entrevistas aprofundadas, entrevistas semi-estruturadas e grupos focais. Resultados: Na opinião dos participantes, prevaleceram as necessidades do tipo econômico, as debilidades no sistema de proteção social, os problemas de acesso aos serviços de saúde e da qualidade dos serviços, assim como a falta de oportunidades de trabalho. Conclusões: Ainda que os participantes reconheçam um avanço na formulação das políticas públicas para pessoas com necessidades especiais, percebem que tal política não alcança às necessidades das pessoas que as cuidam. Além disso, evidenciam sérias fragilidades nas estruturas da maioria dos setores explorados que almejam as necessidades de reunir esforços coletivos que permitam estruturar programas abrangentes para contribuir na qualidade de vida dos responsáveis dos portadores de necessidades especiais.
