标题：Perfil sociodemográfico y epidemiológico de la población expuesta a la contaminación por mercurio, plomo y cadmio, ubicada en la vereda Manuel Sur del municipio de Ricaurte y los barrios Brisas del Bogotá y La Victoria del municipio de Girardot

摘要：El artículo reconoce el perfil sociodemográfico y epidemiológico de la población ubicada en la vereda Manuel Sur (del municipio de Ricaurte) y los barrios Brisas del Bogotá y La Victoria (del municipio de Girardot), expuesta a la contaminación por metales pesados tóxicos provenientes de las aguas del río Bogotá. Hace parte de los resultados de la primera fase del estudio Implementación de estrategias promocionales en salud que contribuyan a la generación de estilos de vida saludable en la población localizada en la planicie aluvial baja del río Bogotá, expuesta a la contaminación por mercurio, plomo y cadmio, organizado en cuatro etapas de desarrollo y planeado para su ejecución entre 2008 y 2010. Se aplicó un instrumento que contiene variables sociales, demográficas y epidemiológicas a 1.040 habitantes, de los cuales 440 son habitantes de la vereda Manuel Sur, 237 habitantes del barrio La Victoria y 363 habitantes del barrio Brisas del Bogotá. Se encontró que la prevalencia se da con enfermedades de tipo inmunológico, digestivo y respiratorio, y dentro de ellas la incidencia para las enfermedades respiratorias y digestivas podría estar ocasionada por problemas ambientales (cambios de clima, contaminación del aire o consumo de agua sin tratamiento previo). ABSTRACT This article gives account of the socio-demographic and epidemiological profile of the population located in Vereda Manuel Sur (Municipality of Ricaurte) and the neighborhoods Brisas del Bogota and La Victoria (Municipality of Girardot, Cundinamarca, Colombia), exposed to contamination by toxic-heavy metals from the waters of the Bogota River. The article is part of the results of the first phase of a four stage study —planned for execution from 2008 to 2010— for the implementation of promotional strategies in health that contribute to the generation of healthy lifestyles in the population located on the low alluvial plain of the Bogota River, which is exposed to contamination by mercury, lead and cadmium. An instrument for data gathering containing social, demographical and epidemiological variables was administered to 1,040 inhabitants whereof 440 live in Vereda Manuel Sur, 237 live in the neighborhood La Victoria, and 363 live in the neighborhood Brisas del Bogota. It was found that prevalence is given by immunological, digestive and respiratory diseases. Among them, the incidence of respiratory and digestive diseases can be caused by environmental problems, weather changes, air contamination or untreated water consumption.
