摘要：The present study presents the image of the Romanian Principalities at the end of the XVIIIth century and the beginning of the XIXth century from the point of view of the Russian general, Louis- Alexandre Andrault de Langeron, who has French origins. Langeron has participated at three wars led on the territory of Danubian Proincipalities (1790-1791, 1806-1812 and 1828-1829). The time that he spent there allowed the French diplomat to discover the Romanian society from different points of view: economically, socially, politically, etc. His memoirs are of great importance for the reconstruction of the South-Eastern European, in general, and Romanian realities, in particular
