摘要：Taking as a starting point some ideas from the French psychoanalyst and philosopher Felix Guattari, this article analyzes the conservatory system (a system that models most university music programs in our country and in the world) as a production machine that desires. Firstly, it presents a brief description of the logic of the conservatory, which serves as the basis of the musical education system in the university; next, it analyzes this logic by means of a critique of the way in which it produces desire, and, finally, it offers a series of conclusions. The article’s main purpose is to try to unveil how conservatory education, as a social machine, is also production that desires, and to reveal how in this particular case it is not only necessity that generates desire, but desire that generates necessity as well.
