摘要：The following paper traces the idea of cultural industry from its origin as a philosophical concept in the work of two authors from the Frankfurt School, Adorno and Horkheimer. Due to its being used instrumentally by the state, the definition of this concept has changed. The article delves into the perspective of the Frankfurt School authors, adding the contributions and criticisms of Walter Benjamin regarding the work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction, in order to establish a relationship between both perspectives.
