摘要：Este artigo trata da relação dos empreendimentos rurais de pequeno porte com as principais tendências do agronegócio. Busca o ambiente interno e externo, em que os empreendimentos devem ficar atentos, de que maneira isto influencia na administração, expõe as tendências do agronegócio e tenta encontrar estratégias para melhorar as condições destes empreendimentos e seus administradores, no caso, os pequenos produtores rurais. Muitos estudos precisam ainda ser realizados, mas existem alternativas para os empreendimentos rurais de pequeno porte, e algumas estratégias foram identificadas e sugeridas neste artigo, como as parcerias, a agregação de valor, a diferenciação de produtos e a educação.-This article deals with the relationship between small rural enterprises and the main trends in agribusiness. It searches the internal and external environments to which those enterprises should be alert, the way these facts affect their management, the trends in agribusiness; it tries to find strategies to improve the conditions of these enterprises and their managers, i. e., the small rural producers. Many studies still need to be conducted, but there are alternatives to these small rural enterprises, such as partnerships, aggregation of value, differentiation of products and education.
