摘要:It´s usual to assume that insecurity, or its feelings, is the result of criminal violence. Mostly those of property crime. In the ethnographic case that matter us, the categorization of the neighbourhood as “red zone” (that of great insecurity and number of crimes), by the media, was the result of the homicide of a young man provoked by police abuse (“gatillo fácil” in slang talk). The article reconstructs the different versions of the tragic event, and analyses critically the unwanted effects of decentralization policies by the Local Government.
