摘要：We study two rocks, a rock carving and a «rocky sanctuary » from the Ourense province (Spain), with two complementary methodologies, landscape archeology and «biography» (Kopytoff) of objects. We start with their description in Christian texts, and then we observe that their relation with important hillforts forms a localization pattern, and finally we propose to date that relationship in the Iron Age. This chronology of the rocks and the following Christian reevaluation leads towards their «social life». These analyses are pertinent in the current debate about the chronology of the Galician rock art, and we propose that the use and meaning in the long term is as important as the initial moment of the carving.
