摘要：In this work we introduce the sarcophagus lid found at the site of Carranque (Toledo) in the year 2009. The very wellpreserved piece was reused as part of the cover of one of the tombs that was part of the Visigothic necropolis installed during the seventh century over the Late Roman Palatium of Carranque. The front of the sarcophagus lid is decorated with three scenes taken from the cycle of the prophet Jonah. The Petrological analysis made in the ICAC confirm that the marble used is Estremoz marble (Portugal) and that we are therefore dealing with a piece made by a Hispanic sculptural workshop of excellent quality which was active in the final decades of the fourth century A.D.
