摘要:Flood is one of the most frequent natural disaster in Brazil. The watercourses classication in the watershed's drainage system is one of the resources of the Hydrological Intelligence - essential to natural disasters monitoring and early warning. Exclusively based on free les and softwares, it is presented a set of procedures for Strahler classication of a hydrography, with results presented for rivers with meaningful history and risk of natural disasters: Itaja, Paraiba do Sul and Doce. The results presentation, with possibilities for education in natural disasters, is done on a free Geographical Information System (QuantumGIS) and on an innovative platform (SALVAR-Cemaden), which is aimed to the natural disasters monitoring and early warning.
