摘要:In this work we introduce a practical case application of approximations of function and definite integral to approach a problem in civil and building engineering. The objective is to approximate the volume involved in a terrain movement from a set of points of the original and desired piece of land. The proposed case can be used as a practical case for engineering students in order to motivate the learning of the employed mathematical tools. We compare the results of our approach with the classical one to assess its advantages.
