摘要:This paper follows the contents of its previous part (AnM 62, 2007, 39-74), dealing with the provenance and evolution of rhythm in Western music. The questions here exposed, come from reading noteworthy writings on music from the Christian Antiquity till the shaping of mensural notation, towards the second half of the 13th century. This second part is based on Latin writers of music, from Augustine till the 13th century.
