摘要：El presente trabajo describe y analiza la función social que desempeña la justicia juvenil. Los datos empíricos pertenecientes al caso de Shila Delargo se utilizan, cuando así se considera oportuno, como punto de partida y/o llegada de las reflexiones que se realizan al respecto. De manera precisa, se ilustran y cuestionan las distintas teorías que se establecen en virtud de la finalidad de la pena: Teorías Absolutas y Teorías Relativas, y dentro de estas últimas la Prevención General y la Prevención Especial. También se reflexiona en torno al papel que juega el principio educativo dentro de ello. Palabras clave: Sistema de justicia juvenil. Función social. Teorías Absolutas. Teorías Relativas. Prevención General. Prevención Especial. Principio educativo. Abstract: The present article describes and analyses the social function of the juvenile justice system. When suitable, Shila Delargo´s case provides empirical evidences to the different statements set. Different theories about the aim of that system are illustrated and analysed: “Teorías Absolutas” (Absolute theories) and “Teorías Relativas” (Relative theories), and inside this last one “Prevención General” (General prevention) and “Prevención Especial” (Special prevention). The educative principle is also examined in its context. Key words: Juvenile justice system.
