摘要:The purpose of this paper is to address Policy Statement 6 of the National Conservation and Preservation Policy for Movable Cultural Heritage:The Commonwealth, State, Territory and Local Governments recognise that conservation and preservation are essential to provide ongoing access to Australia's movable cultural heritage for current and future generations.The paper seeks to provide an overview of recent technological developments which assist in both providing access and protecting original materials, and to address the challenges posed by the need to preserve information found in new electronic formats.
