摘要：This research will present some definitions of what is a rare work from theories of authors and bibliophiles who discuss the theme, demonstrating the view that each one highlights on the bibliographical rarity, and the synthesis of the relation of the concept of rare work presented by these authors, we present a analysis methodology for bibliographical rarity also addressing the importance of having a study of the technical treatment of the rare books of UFMT Central Library and ending with the relevance and benefits of having a manual defining the criteria for bibliographical rarity in an institution.
