摘要：Developing of open source software inIndonesia has increased so fast during pastfew years. By using Linux From Scratch(LFS) Version 6.2 which consists of LinuxBasic System and Beyond Linux FromScratch (BLFS) Version 6.2.0, it will givean improvement on the utizing of OpenSource Software in designing Linuxoperating system. In this research, Linuzbased home-made operating systemm willbe designed for Gunadarma University“Internet Cybercafe”. This sysem enablessystem’s perfoemance to be simpler inchoosing internet accsess packet, ehich arefirefox browser and working windowgraphix Xfce. The result shows, that thisoperating system will give a faster loadingsystem which is 22 seconds compares withother Oss such as Ubuntu 6.06 withGNOME working windows which required52 seconds and Fedora Core 6 with KDEworking windows with 70 seconds
