摘要：In the beginning of 2007, Jakarta thecapital city of Indonesia attacked by thebiggest flood which has ever happenedin the recent year. Based on thegeograhpic aspect, Jakarta is passed by13 rivers which go through the sea, therapid development has caused thechange of the function of the area in thebank river, it can cause many affectinclude: the high level of water debit, theoverflow of bank river, the less of waterabsorbtion area and lots of garbage.Another cases is Pembangunan ProyekBanjir Kanal which has not finished tillnow. It causes the flood especially in thelower areas. To solve this problem, thewriter makes a Geographic InformationSystem (GIS) plan, which can inform thearea of flood in Jakarta by using ArcView GIS. GIS is an information systemwhich used for inserting, saving, callingback, processing, analyzing andproducing the data with geospatialreference. By using GIS makes peopletake the decision easily because they cansee the spreading data in the realsituation. With the system, we can getthe understanding about the floodcondition especially in Jakarta, so thatpeople who live in Jakarta can makepreparation to decrease the flood effects.
