摘要:One of the use of biometric systems as one of the identification system hasgrown rapidly, one of which is used is the iris. In general stages iris recognitionsystem consists of several stages, namely image acquisition, segmentation /localization, extraction and recognition. At that stage segmentation / localizationis important, because it can localize some parts of the image of an object. In thisstudy, the authors tried an alternative localization / segmentation by utilizingfeatures that pupils have a homogeneous dark intensity and shape of the pupiland iris circles by using Matlab 7.0 programming language. Testing the systemis done by taking a database that is assumed to have been done by CASIA(Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Automation). Iris database was takenon CASIA version 1.0, the resulting image is a gray image in BMP format withsize 320 x 280 pixels. From the results of the overall test image consisting of756 images, the success rate segmentation / localization of the pupil and iris thatworks is 35.58%, which almost worked was 50.93% and some it did not workwas 13:49%. While the overall average pupil and iris radius are 51,081 and102,415, and the average - the average processing time is obtained from theentire image is 3677 seconds.
