摘要：This paper is about the mastery level of understanding conditional sentences.The objectives of this research are to measure and explain the student mastery ofconditional sentences at the fourth year students, Faculty of Letters, GunadarmaUniversity. The writer uses method respondent, library research and fieldresearch. The writer spreads questionnaires of if conditional sentences to thestudents. The writer took 20 students as sample to represent the wholepopulation by mean as the random sampling due to limitation. The data analysiswill show the result of the study in the form table, and analyse the sample pernumber of the answer one by one in the term of finding difficulties ofconditional sentence. The result of analysis showed the ability of the fourth yearstudents of faculty of letters at Gunadarama university is above average or goodand the mean score of all students is 80,75. Most of the students understandabout If conditional sentence, only few of them sometimes forget about theformula. Studying from the basic would be good for them.
