摘要：Some people like reading literature, there are some kinds of literature. One kindof the literatures is novel. The story in novel may have purpose from the author.In this paper, the writer tried to discuss about a novel entitled Emma. Emma, anovel written by Jane Austen, one of the most popular English writers in era1800s, was born on December 16th, 1775, at the rectory in the village ofSteventon, near Basingstoke, in Hampshire. She is the English writer, who firstgave the novel its modern character through the treatment of everyday life. InEmma, we can find many moral values. The most outstanding good character isMr. Knightley who can admired as a wise man. The writer wanted to specify theresearch, so the writer did the research about the characteristics and personalitiesof Mr. Knightley as a wise man in Emma. The writer hopes this research cangive the reference to the reader about the novel entitled Emma.
