摘要：ABSTRACT :Method is the way of the practices and procedures used in teaching. The usageof a teaching method is very influence in succeed the teaching learning Englishto the student’s ability. The problems of the study are what kinds ofteaching method used in 2nd grade of SDN 3 Pemuda and what kinds ofmaterials used in teaching English. The aims of study is the writer wants toexplain about teaching method and the materials that the teacher used inlearning English for 2nd grade students of SDN 3 Depok. In this research, thewriter uses a descriptive qualitative method, field research that consists ofobservation and interviews and then library research which the writer gets thedata from books and website that related to this research. Based on observationin SDN 3 Depok, there are three kinds of method that the teacher uses in 2ndgrade students. First, total physical response method means that the teacher usesgestures and some simple command in daily activities. Second, audio lingualmethod means that the teacher give information to the students more than oncetime and all students must follow what the teacher said. Third, communitylanguage learning method means that the teacher creates a small group todevelop student’s ability in communicating, and also can monitor theiractivity in class.
